This Cookie Policy explains how ImpulsiQ uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) when you use our website and application. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies & Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage is a related technology that lets a site store information in your browser. Both can be "session" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" (remaining until they expire or are cleared). We use these only for the purposes described below.

The Cookies & Storage We Use

ImpulsiQ uses strictly necessary and functional technologies, plus privacy-friendly analytics that set no cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use analytics or tracking cookies that profile you across other websites.

Strictly Necessary (Authentication)

Set by: ImpulsiQ via Supabase (our authentication provider)

Stored in: browser local storage / session

Purpose: to keep you securely signed in, maintain your session, and protect against unauthorised access to accounts. The Service cannot function without these, so they do not require consent.

Functional (Your Preferences & Progress)

Set by: ImpulsiQ (first-party)

Stored in: browser local storage (persistent)

Purpose: to remember your choices and in-progress work — for example your theme (dark/light), your selected university, year and module, and an unfinished exam so you can resume it. These improve your experience and are not used to track you.

Analytics (Cookieless)

Provided by: Vercel Web Analytics & Cloudflare Web Analytics

Stored on your device: nothing — no cookies and no persistent identifiers

Purpose: to understand aggregate traffic and site performance (e.g. page views, load speed) so we can improve the Service. Because these do not use cookies and do not track you across other websites, they do not require your consent under PECR.

Payment (Stripe)

Set by: Stripe, when you visit a checkout or payment page

Purpose: to process subscription payments securely and help Stripe prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

Your Choices

Because we only use strictly necessary and functional technologies (and no advertising or cross-site tracking), we do not show a cookie consent banner. You can still control or clear this data at any time through your browser settings — but note that removing the authentication and functional storage will sign you out and reset your preferences, and may prevent parts of the Service from working.

Our current analytics are cookieless and require no consent. If we ever introduce cookie- or identifier-based analytics or advertising, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first, as required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
